NBC Sports Group will present 15.5 hours of Kentucky Derby coverage, a record for the event, beginning Wednesday, April 30, at 4 p.m. ET on NBCSN, and culminating with the 140th running of the Kentucky Derby on NBC, Saturday, May 3. Are you looking for something to do in Louisville when you are not partying at Churchill Downs for the 2014 Kentucky Derby? Whether you are a Louisville native or a tourist, it can be difficult to figure out where all of the hot spots for music on Derby weekend truly are. However, as a Louisville resident and musician, my Facebook events page is full of interesting talent. Listed below are bands that are playing within two miles of Churchill Downs. Did you know that a famous Kentuckian is giving a live performance at Churchill Downs on Oaks Day? After the Fillies run for the Lilies on Oaks Day on May 2 in Louisville, Kentucky, there will be a new, exciting event at Churchill Downs. While working with the official Kentucky Derby tickets partner, Derby Experiences, I learned that this after-Oaks party was the first of its kind. In years past, Churchill Downs did not have a top-tiered celebrity entertainment event, but this year will set a new precedent for tourists unable to afford the high-priced tickets and exclusive invite-only celebrity-related galas.Read Full Article »
